Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 March 2026  ·  Effective: 20 March 2026

1. About Nuranee and These Terms

Nuranee is an online marketplace platform operated by Tulip Tech Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (the "Company", "we", "us", "our"). Our registered address is available upon written request at legal@nuranee.com.

Nuranee connects students, parents, and guardians ("Students") with independent Quran tutors ("Tutors") for online lessons. Nuranee is a marketplace, not a tutoring agency. Tutors are independent contractors who set their own rates, availability, and teaching methods. Tulip Tech Ltd does not employ tutors and is not responsible for the quality, accuracy, or content of lessons delivered by Tutors.

By registering, accessing, or using the Nuranee platform (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all users worldwide, with additional provisions for specific jurisdictions set out below.

2. Eligibility

To use the Platform you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age; or
  • Be a parent or legal guardian creating an account on behalf of a child under 18.

By registering you confirm that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and current. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account details. Nuranee reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts where information is found to be false or misleading.

Children under 13: We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you are under 13, a parent or guardian must register on your behalf. If we discover we have collected data from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly.

3. Account Registration and Security

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. You must notify us immediately at support@nuranee.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

You may not share your account with any third party, create multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions, or use automated tools to access the Platform.

4. The Marketplace Service

Nuranee provides the technology platform through which Students and Tutors can connect, book lessons, and make payments. Nuranee:

  • Does not guarantee the availability, quality, or suitability of any Tutor;
  • Does not endorse any specific Tutor unless explicitly stated;
  • Does not guarantee learning outcomes;
  • Is not party to any teaching contract formed between a Student and a Tutor.

Tutors are solely responsible for the content and conduct of their lessons. Students engage Tutors at their own discretion and risk.

5. Free Trial

Each Student account is entitled to one free 30-minute trial lesson per Tutor. No payment is required until after the trial lesson is completed and the Student chooses to continue.

The free trial is non-transferable, non-exchangeable for cash, and limited to one per Tutor per Student account. Abuse of the free trial system (e.g. creating multiple accounts to obtain multiple trials) will result in account suspension.

6. Payments, Fees, and Platform Charges

Platform fee: Nuranee charges a platform service fee of 20% on all lesson payments. This is deducted from the amount paid by the Student before the remainder is disbursed to the Tutor.

Payments: All payments are processed securely via Stripe. By making a payment you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. Nuranee does not store card details.

Currency: All prices are displayed in Great British Pounds (GBP) unless otherwise stated. International users may be subject to currency conversion fees charged by their payment provider — Nuranee is not responsible for these.

Tutor payouts: Tutors are paid weekly. Nuranee reserves the right to withhold payment pending investigation of disputed transactions or policy violations.

VAT and taxes: Where applicable, VAT will be added to platform fees in accordance with UK law. Tutors are solely responsible for declaring and paying their own income tax and National Insurance contributions on earnings received via Nuranee.

7. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Student cancellations:

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before a scheduled lesson: full refund or credit to account.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of a scheduled lesson: no refund (Tutor compensation applies).
  • No-shows by the Student: no refund.

Tutor cancellations:

  • Where a Tutor cancels a confirmed lesson, the Student will receive a full refund or credit.
  • Repeated Tutor cancellations may result in account suspension.

Consumer rights (UK): Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, UK consumers have a 14-day right to cancel a digital services contract from the date of purchase, unless the digital service has already begun with your explicit consent and acknowledgement that the right to cancel is thereby lost. By booking and attending a lesson you acknowledge this.

Disputes: If you believe a lesson was not delivered as described, contact support@nuranee.com within 7 days. We will investigate and may issue a goodwill credit at our discretion.

8. Tutor Obligations

By registering as a Tutor you confirm that you:

  • Have the right to work in your country of residence;
  • Hold any qualifications or certifications you claim on your profile;
  • Will deliver lessons to the standard described in your profile;
  • Will maintain a safe, appropriate, and respectful environment for all Students;
  • Will not engage in any form of harassment, inappropriate conduct, or safeguarding violation;
  • Are solely responsible for your tax obligations;
  • Will not attempt to take Students off-platform to circumvent Nuranee fees after initial contact on the Platform.

Tulip Tech Ltd reserves the right to remove any Tutor from the Platform at its sole discretion, including for safeguarding concerns, without liability to the Tutor.

9. Safeguarding and Child Protection

The safety of children using our Platform is our highest priority. All Tutors are required to:

  • Conduct lessons in a visible environment (camera on);
  • Never request contact with a Student outside the Nuranee Platform during the initial engagement period;
  • Never record lessons without explicit written consent from the Student or their parent/guardian;
  • Report any safeguarding concerns to Nuranee immediately at safeguarding@nuranee.com.

Nuranee reserves the right to report safeguarding concerns to relevant UK authorities including the NSPCC, local safeguarding boards, or police as required by law.

10. Acceptable Use

You must not use the Platform to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content;
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users;
  • Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code;
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest user data;
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of any person;
  • Use the Platform for commercial purposes other than as expressly permitted;
  • Circumvent any security, access control, or payment mechanism on the Platform.

11. Intellectual Property

The Nuranee name, logo, branding, website design, software, and content (excluding user-generated content) are the intellectual property of Tulip Tech Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our prior written consent.

By submitting content to the Platform (including profile information, reviews, and lesson materials), you grant Tulip Tech Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and reproduce that content in connection with operating the Platform.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Nuranee is not liable for the acts or omissions of Tutors;
  • Nuranee is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the Platform;
  • Our total liability to you in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Nuranee in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

13. Termination and Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms, for safeguarding reasons, or for any other legitimate reason at our sole discretion. Where possible we will give you reasonable notice.

You may close your account at any time by contacting support@nuranee.com. Outstanding payment obligations survive account closure.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer protection laws in your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

EU users: If you are a consumer based in the European Union, you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Alternative Dispute Resolution: Before commencing legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at legal@nuranee.com to attempt to resolve any dispute informally.

15. International Users

The Platform is operated from the United Kingdom. If you access the Platform from outside the UK, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws.

Australia: Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Canada: Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under applicable Canadian provincial consumer protection legislation.

United States: Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable US federal or state consumer protection laws. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA (see our Privacy Policy).

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
